After obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Electrical
Engineering, Dr. Sawko worked for the Department of Energy
as an engineer and programmer before completing medical
school at the University of Pittsburgh. Board Certified in
Emergency Medicine and Family Practice, he began practicing
emergency medicine in 1981, following a Family Practice
Residency at Halifax Hospital, Daytona Beach, Florida. In
1991, Dr. Sawko became and remains President of West Volusia
Emergency Physicians, P.A.
Dr. Sawko has held various
positions on medical staffs in the Volusia County area. In
1997, he co-founded and developed with Charles Duva, M.D.,
Healthcare Billing Systems, Inc., now known as DuvaSawko. He
leads DuvaSawkos development of state-of-the-art
information systems and in-depth practice analysis.
